How do I stop my braids for making my hair flaky at the scalp and the scalp is not dry?

My hair only tends to flake up when I have braids.When I get braids it always starts to flake up in less than 3 weeks..I tried the braid spray thats not working..and its getting hot and I want my hair off my back..Please..Is there something I can use to stop the flaking...???????????

well whats flaking is your scalp...and your scalp wouldnt be flaking if it wasnt dry. so its dry. i have dry scalp...and i hate it...i try so hard to fix it...it just wont go away. maybe get some braid cream...? i think they had some at curls.biz anyways...try to get some oil that doesnt have pertoleum or petrolatum in it...this clogs thefollicles and is nasty and greasy....the oil without this pertroleum stuff in it is usually cream-like. i have some...its parnevu carrot oil. it cost like 5 bucks. uhm...don't scratch your scalp alot...and get some oil sheen spray for your braid...and when you spray, spray some on your scalp too. use moisturizing conditioner. and get a moisturizer and put that on the scalp

Tea Tree oil works great for that, just rub it into your scalp. They make some shampoos with it in there, but I'd use something more concentrated. Look in the hair and nutrition sections at your local store.

Wet your scalp,massage some condi in your scalp let it sit for ten minutes and rinse it out *be gentle or you might undo some braids*.
