How do I do french braiding, its just not working out for me.?

I'm not sure how you french braid yor hair properly, small( like African style) or large (traditionally). I'm considering different hairstyles.

French braiding takes lots of practice, especially if you're going to do it on your own head. The best way to learn is to get a book with good pictures (or diagrams) and then practice practice practice. I can French braid my own hair, but only because I had a six-month long class that was all-day and all lecture, so I'd practice to keep from going crazy (or to sleep).

You start by doing a regular braid at the top of your hair, and braid it twice. Then as you continue to braid, pull a little hair in from the side you are braiding, and put it together with the original bunch of hair. Pull it over to the other side ( as if you're doing a normal braid) and repeat.

So basically it's the same as doing a regular braid, ecxcept you bring in some hair each time you do it.

THIS ANSW3R SHOULDNT BE ANSWERED ON THE INTERNET, TRY AND FIND A FRENCH BRAIDING CLASS, ALSO ITS EASIER TO BRAID THICKER HAIR(FOUND ON DARKER SKINNED PEOPLE) THAN IT IS ON THIN HAIR(ON LIGHTER PEOPLE) SO I SUGGEST A HAIR CLASS, GOOD LUCK!!
