Why is my hair super thin after having hair extensions in for only two weeks??

I recently got hair extensions woven in and I removed them after only two weeks b/c I went on vacation in Hawaii and was in the ocean a lot and they got kind of scraggly. The girl that did them braided my hair very tight to ensure that i wouldn't need to get them retightened after my trip. That didn't help much. My scalp is tore up. It is very dry and i have dandruff for the first time in my life. When I was removing the braids that she sewed the extensions in my hair starting coming out in handfuls. WHY?? I am devastated b/c although my hair wasn't super thick to begin with i have about half as much hair as i did before the extensions. I am super depressed and am wondering if anyone has any solutions or treatments. I don't want to cut my hair (even though i prob should) and have started taking prenatal vitamins for the nutrients for hair and nails, but is there anything else i can do??? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

it was braided so tightly that she pulled your hair out by the root!

there isn't much you can do. i'm sorry.

the shorter your hair is the thicker it will appear, but you don't want to cut it.

you need to tell the girl who braided your hair what happened and know yourself what happened so it WON'T happen again.

keep your scalp oiled is one thing you can do, but with a 'tore up' scalp that might not be a good idea, either.

you also typically loose between 80-120 hairs daily. if your hair has been braided for a few days the hairs coming out might be the ones that were supposed to fall out but couldn't because they were braided.

with the 'tore up' scalp, i would have to guess the braiding was too tight, though.

the same thing happen to me! my hair is really thin now because with the braids being so tight i lost circulation to my hair and some fell out!

Tracks and the water don't mix!!But i would say its because your hair fell out so just lay off the weave for a few months or weeks!!

if you are Caucasian and had synthetic hair mixed in with your own hair, it probably ate your hair. Caucasians do not have a strong enough texture of natural hair to use anything BUT human hair. Also, if your hair was already damaged or thin then just having it braided that tightly period could have eaten your natural hair out. that applies to any ethnicity of hair...

do some major conditioning treatments. i recommend design essentials 6 n 1 conditioner... and maybe a hot oil treatment
